This class is structured by Jennifer Bishop, she is a licensed Mental Health Counselor with 10 years of experience working with children and 3 years experience working with clay. She is partnering with the teachers at MIY Ceramics studio to provide a unique opportunity for kids to learn and develop a creative outlet for their emotional needs . This class utilizes clay and art as a therapeutic instrument to help increase coping skills, positive self esteem and socialization with others.
This class is meant for kids with Behavioral, Mental Health or Developmental issues such as (but not limited to) Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Oppositional Defiant, etc.
Class runs for 4 weeks, it meets from 6:30 -8:30. The class size is small to accommodate each child’s special needs. Cost is $200, includes, instruction, materials, clay, firing, and studio time. A $50 deposit is required to reserve the space for your child. Kids ages 8 to 13 are welcome. Even though your child may not meet the requirements, please call us to let us know about your specific needs.
